  1. My roommate keeps kicking my ass in Tekken 7 using Bob’s belly flop move.

Please, someone help me counter. I play King, but mainly depend on skills developed 20+ years ago

  2. When you have a friend over and decide to play that 1 fighting game you’ve spent 200 hours on and he beats you by mashing and you have to give them that weak “hey good job lol” while holding back the urge to shove the controller down his smug fucking face.

  3. That’s me in every arcade fighter game every. I remember one time Killer Instinct was broken. I kept spamming the same attack over and over, every match, and beat the game with one quarter (maybe 50c). I was drawing a crowd like I was some professional.

  4. It’s not that hard as OP makes it seem actually since the buttons haven’t changed since SF2 so here is a simple and easy *guide* in case you encounter a streetfighter game that you haven’t played before:

    1. Bootup the game

    2. Select your character

    3. When the battle begins shout “Hold up buddy, let’s just check which button does what first”

Then you and your opponent stay in your corner for about 10-15 seconds and you can try out every button. Of course this *guide* may need some adjustment for online play so stay tuned for version 2.0 of the *guide*.

But seriously in general there’s 2 kicks and 2 punches on the thumb buttons and 1 kick and 1 punch on the shoulder buttons and IIRC the hard kick/punch are the shoulder buttons, the middle kick/punch are on on the upper buttons of the thumb pad and the low kick/punch are on the lower buttons of the thumb pad.

    To be more precise:

    For xBox:

    – Hard Punch: L-Button

    – Middle Punch: Y

    – Low Punch: X

    – Hard Kick: R-Button

    – Middle Kick: B

    – Low Kick: A

However if the OP is referring to the fact that new players don’t know the input combinations for special moves then I can agree. I used to play in a local supermarket when I was about 12 and occasionally some younger kids would come by and we’d play a round. Even after getting on a *somewhat ok-ish* level back then, I’d still get pwned by buttonmashers…

  5. Oh, my problem is more “yeah, I get what this does, but what do I DO?” also I’m too incompetent to learn and apply special movies consistently under pressure except maybe one or two “easy” ones.

Just because I know “this is a heavy attack, this is a light attack” etc doesn’t mean I can actually do anything effective with it. I’m average at best and I don’t much like it, really.

  6. Super Nintendo, Street Fighter 2, E. Honda… down + Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y

  7. How did they expect people to know the combos in the old fighter games if they didn’t have the manuals? They never had tutorial modes. Hell a single picture in game would solve all the issues.
